California Fires

Post by ken cierp » Fri Oct 13, 2017 5:59 pm

I hope all is going well for those on the west coast --- I understand not so good for some of the major custom Luthiers, Saxhauer, Klepper etc. grouped in the area. Heard LMII is closing shop and bugging out -- horrible situation --- can't imagine!

We're getting the smoke from those fires in N. Cal. here in southern Oregon. But what is only a mild inconvenience for us is such a major life event for those poor folks in the fire country.

We see that news here too. Watching it makes me sad. All those people loosing all the things they love. Horrifying.

Sorry to share that my house in Santa Rosa, my guitars, my shop, my tools and supplies, and my toothbrush all went up in smoke (or, more accurately, down to ash) in the early hours of October 9. My companion and I escaped unharmed (just barely) and are OK. We'll be moving to Petaluma soon and will restart. That will take a while.

Lesson: enjoy the moment

O jee, Hans,
Can't believe it happened to you. And cannot imagine how you must feel. We feel for you and we hope you can recover soon. Still I'm glad you are safe.
Take care
Herman
